Job summary

Pin Point Health & Social Care in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a BSL-qualified Independent Living Support Worker to assist two young men in their first home after college. You will provide person-centred support to help them become more independent, build relationships, access the local community and achieve personal goals.

The role covers daily living activities, community participation and personal care where needed, with full training provided.

Qualifications

  • Level 1 BSL qualification or above.
  • Right to work in the UK - sponsorship is not available.
  • Willingness to work days, weekends and waking nights.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Person-centred approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support within the home and community.
  • Promote independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing.
  • Support daily living skills, routines and household tasks.
  • Support community activities, relationships and social opportunities.
  • Provide personal care where required.
  • Follow health, medication, safeguarding and risk management procedures.
  • Support individuals with behaviours of concern using agreed Positive Behaviour Support approaches.
  • Maintain accurate records and work effectively with families and professionals.
  • Communicate effectively using British Sign Language.
