Job summary

Great Places Housing Group is seeking an Independent Living Coordinator to join our team delivering housing management and support for customers in Independent Living. Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, the role focuses on promoting independence and tailored, responsive services within a person-centred framework.

You’ll handle tenancy management, welfare checks, record-keeping, safeguarding, and collaboration with different agencies to meet customers’ housing and support needs.

Qualifications

• Experience and understanding of safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
• Experience of administration and recording procedures, with an in depth understanding of confidentiality.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
• Relevant professional qualification or memberships or equivalent experience.
• Experience of basic housing processes and welfare benefits.
• Knowledge of housing and tenancy legislation and procedures.
• Willingness and ability to travel to multiple locations.
• Driving licence and access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Support customers to maintain independence and thriving in tenancy and community.
• Manage tenancy processes including voids, allocations, renewals, rents, and tenancy breaches.
• Oversee general building management, health and safety, and compliance.
• Respond to welfare checks, alarms, emergencies, and liaise with families and support agencies.
• Complete Personal Safety Plans with a person-centred approach.
• Maintain accurate records in line with Data Protection.
• Promote partnership working with agencies and signpost services.
• Encourage social activity and engagement with community services.
• Address safeguarding concerns promptly and take appropriate action.
• Follow guidelines and workflows consistent with the Great Places Service Commitment.
