A logistics company based in Bedfordshire is seeking an Import / Export Coordinator to manage the complete supplier cycle and ensure compliance with customs regulations. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to optimize logistics and coordinate timely deliveries, while maintaining careful records. An ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the shipping industry, along with a detail-oriented approach to documentation and processes.
Our client is a multi-site specialist distributor of industrial related products that are used in a variety of applications. Due to further growth, they are looking for an experienced Import / Export Coordinator to work within a complex, fast moving & high compliance operation.
Managing the logistics by the efficient sourcing of haulage whilst following all customs procedures. Managing the complete supplier cycle, ensuring orders are tracked and delivered on time into the Manchester warehouse. Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and ensuring timely delivery of orders.
Ensure quality and on time delivery of goods from supply source to warehouse locations. Obtain competitive shipping/clearance rates, closely manage all costs and schedules and communicate clearly with relevant stakeholders. Build value-added relationships with freight forwarders to present and drive new ideas to improve our overall road / sea logistics management.
Liaise closely with operations teams on the timely receipt of goods. Maintain a detailed log of all shipments and costings which can be shared with commercial and operational teams. Provide close attention to detail in checking import documentation and contractual clauses. Keep track of invoices and ensure timely settlement.
