Job summary

Converge UK is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our IT Recycling Operations at Stafford/Bathgate, ensuring safety, efficiency and outstanding customer service.

You'll develop your team, drive continuous improvement, and monitor KPIs while coordinating with Warehouse and Logistics to optimise collections, stock and service levels. This role requires strong leadership, a commercial mindset, and a passion for sustainable technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operations management, ideally within IT recycling, IT asset disposition (ITAD), manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or a similar operational environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience coaching teams and managing performance against targets.
• Commercially minded with ability to understand operational and financial performance and deliver revenue and profit objectives.
• Excellent communication, organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience driving change, improving processes, and challenging existing ways of working to achieve better results.
• A good working knowledge of IT equipment, IT recycling, and ITAD processes.
• A strong understanding of health and safety, environmental compliance, and safe operational practices.
• Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing team, coaching Supervisors and Team Leaders to achieve individual and departmental KPIs.
• Take ownership of operational performance, supporting the achievement of revenue, profit, and annual budget targets.
• Monitor sales‑out activity, stock levels, and inventory to maximise efficiency, productivity, and commercial returns.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure service expectations are consistently met.
• Work closely with Warehouse and Logistics to coordinate customer collections and deliveries, ensuring agreed service levels are achieved.
• Manage recruitment, performance reviews, training, and development to build an engaged and capable team.
• Ensure all operations comply with relevant health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, security requirements, and company procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, investigating root causes of operational issues, and implementing effective solutions.
