Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Recycling & Waste Operations Manager in Oxford. You will lead a large frontline team, drive service improvements and support sustainability and waste-reduction targets.

The role focuses on operational leadership, financial management and regulatory compliance, with a view to enhancing efficiency, safety and stakeholder partnerships in a busy waste services environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in operational management, preferably in waste/recycling frontline services.
• Experience leading and developing large teams.
• Strong operational, financial and resource management skills.
• Experience delivering projects and improving service performance.
• Sound understanding of health and safety and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, organisational and people management skills.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
• A relevant management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Waste management qualifications, CIWM membership, WAMITAB accreditation and a relevant driving licence would be advantageous.

Recycling & Waste Operations Manager

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: 6 month temporary contract

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Recycling & Waste Operations Manager to lead and develop its waste and recycling services. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong operational leader to manage a large frontline workforce, drive service improvements and support ambitious recycling, sustainability and waste reduction targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a large operational team, ensuring effective resource planning and service delivery
• Oversee waste and recycling collection, transfer and disposal operations
• Drive operational performance, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
• Manage budgets, fleet, assets and resources effectively
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and statutory requirements

About You
