Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Recycling & Waste Operations Manager in Oxford. You will lead a large frontline team, drive service improvements and support sustainability and waste-reduction targets.

The role focuses on operational leadership, financial management and regulatory compliance, with a view to enhancing efficiency, safety and stakeholder partnerships in a busy waste services environment.

Qualifications

Proven track record in operational management, preferably in waste/recycling frontline services.
Experience leading and developing large teams.
Strong operational, financial and resource management skills.
Experience delivering projects and improving service performance.
Sound understanding of health and safety and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, organisational and people management skills.
Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
A relevant management qualification or equivalent experience.
Waste management qualifications, CIWM membership, WAMITAB accreditation and a relevant driving licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead and motivate a large operational team with effective resource planning and service delivery.
Oversee waste and recycling collection, transfer and disposal operations.
Drive operational performance, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Manage budgets, fleet, assets and resources.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and statutory requirements.
Develop staff, maintain positive employee relations and build stakeholder partnerships.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, develop services and generate revenue.
