Worcestershire County Council is seeking a proactive Highways & Transport Systems Development & Data Engineer to drive innovative transport technology and data initiatives across the county. You will lead complex projects, deliver digital infrastructure, and collaborate with operators, schools and partners to improve accessibility and sustainability.

The role focuses on real-time information systems, smart ticketing, data platforms and integration with home-to-school transport technology,

Qualifications

• Experience leading or delivering significant projects in a transport, infrastructure, technical or digital environment.
• Strong understanding of technology systems, data analysis or digital service delivery.
• Confident project management with budgets, suppliers and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of transport technology and infrastructure projects.
• Support home-to-school transport systems and associated technologies.
• Manage public transport infrastructure projects, including bus shelters and passenger information assets.
• Manage budgets, suppliers, contracts and system performance.
• Prepare business cases, briefs and reports to support investment decisions.
