Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a Senior Technician to join the Transport Programmes team. You will provide technical support to Senior and Principal Transport Planners and help deliver a varied transport programme.

Hybrid working is offered, with two to three office days per week. The role involves data analysis, research, reporting and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to lead small projects and contribute to major transport and infrastructure work.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning, infrastructure or project delivery.
• Experience contributing to the delivery of transport or infrastructure projects.
• Experience helping to monitor budgets, contribute to business cases or support funding bids.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Senior and Principal Transport Planners delivering the transport programme
• Contribute to schemes on active travel, public transport, road safety, traffic management, electric vehicle infrastructure and regeneration
• Undertake research and analyse transport and management data
• Prepare clear reports, briefings and supporting documentation
• Support public consultation and stakeholder engagement
• Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners
• Lead defined small-scale projects as development opportunities
