Job summary

Staffordshire County Council invites applications for a hybrid role within the Traffic & Network Management Team, based at Staffordshire Place 1, Stafford. The role focuses on registering and processing highway activity applications, licensing, TTROs, and customer support to minimise disruption and safeguard safety on the network.

Qualifications

  • Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and experience working with a wide range of customers.
  • Be highly motivated, proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities and conflicting demands effectively.
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and process information efficiently.
  • Good IT Skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Register and process applications relating to activities on the highway network, including:
  • Highway licences
  • Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs)
  • Log and assign applications to the appropriate Officer or Manager for review.
  • Ensure applications are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to customer, contractor and stakeholder enquiries, providing advice and information relating to highway activities and applications.
  • Support the compliance with the requirements of: The Traffic Management Act 2004; The New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991; The Highways Act 1980.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of applications, communications, and decisions.
  • Liaise with a range of internal teams, external organisations, authorities, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the effective management of the highway network by supporting processes that minimise disruption and improve network performance.
