Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a Transport Planner to help shape the future transport network in Staffordshire. The role covers data analysis, reporting, GIS applications and contributing to Local Transport Plan delivery.

The successful candidate will join a growing Connectivity Strategy team, with opportunities for training and career progression, and a hybrid working model combining home and office work.

Qualifications

• A levels or BTEC Level 3 in a relevant discipline or experience in a transport planning environment.
• Knowledge of the role of local authorities in delivering transport projects.
• Demonstrable IT experience and utilizing software packages effectively (e.g., Microsoft).
• Ability to assimilate, disseminate, communicate and present complex information.
• Effective organisational skills and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the development and delivery of the Local Transport Plan.
• Analysing transport data and the preparation of reports including trend analysis and data limitations.
• Applying GIS analysis techniques and other accessibility planning software
• Producing plans, graphics and text to be included in reports.
• Responding to general transport planning related correspondence, in line with the Council’s policy position on transport.
• Liaison with other internal Council officers and external organisations.
