Leonardo in the UK is seeking a Lead/Principal Systems Engineer to drive systems thinking across the Precision Guidance portfolio. The role sits in a hybrid setup with Basildon, Bristol or Southampton sites, and focuses on governance, architecture, and integration across programmes.

You will lead and coach teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure robust verification strategies while enabling rapid decision-making in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Lead/Principal Engineer or similar.
• Experience governing Systems Engineering lifecycles.
• Experience collaborating with internal/external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Influence engineering artefacts and technical direction.
• Lead systems engineering across full development lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and coaching on Systems Engineering practices.
• Ensure modelling, simulation and concepting inform architectures.
• Collaborate with UK teams to promote continual learning and improvement.
