Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Basildon is seeking a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer to lead system-of-systems developments on major defence programmes. You will oversee bid to support lifecycle activities, requirement capture, design, analysis and testing, while engaging customers and suppliers across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will guide architecture, integration, verification and validation, ensuring safety reviews and compliance with standards. Hybrid working in the UK is offered.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Highly experienced in systems engineering, including integration of complex systems.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers, suppliers and stakeholders to define the overall solution.
• Develop top level system architecture and design documentation with the team.
• Lead verification and validation activities and ensure design integrity across subsystems.
• Coordinate fault finding, integration troubleshooting and technical reviews under tight timescales.
• Support safety reviews, hazard identification and risk mitigation.
