Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer to lead and shape the systems engineering capability across the sector. You will guide large, diverse teams, drive governance, and set a clear technical vision for future programmes while coordinating with sector leaders and stakeholders.

The role combines on‑site and hybrid work, with a focus on delivering robust system architectures and effective verification strategies in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience applying governance and guidance on Systems Engineering lifecycle processes (LCM).
• Proven ability to elicit stakeholder expectations and translate them into architecture.
• Experience leading high‑performing, cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for systems engineering governance and lifecycle activities.
• Coach and develop systems engineers; lead multi‑discipline teams.
• Define architectures and model/simulate to mitigate emergent behaviours.
• Lead verification and validation strategies and engage with stakeholders.
