Leonardo UK Ltd in Basildon seeks a Chief Systems Engineer for the Precision Guidance area within ISP. You will influence system artefacts, govern lifecycle processes, and coach teams to address complex problems across lifecycle stages.

Lead modelling and architectural decisions using MBSE tools, ensuring safety, security, manufacture and through-life support considerations are embedded in options and technical choices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Systems Engineering governance and LCM processes.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality engineering artefacts within Integrated Project Teams.
• Experience eliciting stakeholder expectations and defining architectures.
• Experience in MBSE tools and model-driven engineering.
• Proven leadership and decision-making in a high‑complexity environment.

Responsibilities

• Influence the development, structure, and quality of engineering artefacts across the FC/ASW programme.
• Act as the focal point for systems engineering governance and lifecycle activities.
• Coach engineers to understand problem space, stakeholder needs, and constraints.
• Ensure modelling, simulation and architectural techniques inform options and decisions.
• Promote safety, security, manufacture and support considerations across design lifecycles.
• Identify trends and drive continual improvement in systems engineering practices.
• Collaborate with peers to adopt connected, scalable engineering approaches.
