Job summary

National Grid is seeking a PMO Performance Analyst to join our Asset Operations team. You will support portfolio governance, performance insights, and controls across a capital portfolio, turning data into actionable recommendations using Power BI.

Based with our Warwick office and with options for flexible working, you will collaborate with stakeholders to monitor baselines, forecast costs, track risks and enable data-driven decisions that improve delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in PMO, project controls, portfolio reporting, governance or performance analysis within a complex delivery environment.
• Experience supporting capital projects, programmes or portfolios with governance controls and assurance processes.
• Understanding of project performance measures across cost, risk, schedule and change, with ability to interpret data and derive insights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to turn data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience developing/maintaining dashboards and visual analytics using Power BI and Tableau.
• Good data modelling and data visualization knowledge with ability to gather and refine business requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support PMO governance and portfolio reporting aligned with PMO roadmap by maintaining accurate information and providing assurance.
• Monitor performance across baselines, highlighting exceptions, dependencies and issues.
• Develop and maintain performance frameworks, metrics and KPIs linking strategy to portfolio outcomes.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and visualisations to support data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into solutions.
• Analyse trends and risks, presenting findings to PMO and stakeholders.
• Assist cost management activities including forecasting and variance analysis to improve financial control.
• Support integrated planning by maintaining portfolio information and tracking milestones.
• Maintain risk, issue and change data and ensure it is reflected across cost, schedule and risk.
• Prepare materials for portfolio performance reviews and track agreed actions.
• Work with Data, Governance, and wider teams to ensure trusted data supports regulatory reporting.
