Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited in Bristol, hybrid role (typically 1 day a week in the office), is looking for a Software Engineer with strong PHP (Symfony/Laravel) and JavaScript (Vue/React) skills. You will build and evolve internal systems powering operations, analytics and the B2B portal.

The role centers on backend development with some frontend work, collaborating with the Head of Development to design architecture and ensure pragmatic, well-tested solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong PHP in modern frameworks (Symfony or Laravel).
• Experience with JavaScript in Vue or React.
• Experience building API-driven backends with tests.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Docker is a plus.
• Ability to own features in a small, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend features for internal systems and B2B portal.
• Collaborate with Head of Development on design and technical direction.
• Write clean, SOLID PHP with unit/functional tests.
• Contribute to standards, CI/CD, and deployment practices.
• Work with business users to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Help evolve platform infrastructure using PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Vue.js, AWS, and Docker.
