Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is seeking a Software Engineer (PHP & JavaScript) in Bristol for a hybrid role. You will focus on backend-heavy features powering operations, analytics and the B2B portal while using Vue or React on the frontend.

You will interact with the Head of Development on solution design and architecture, owning meaningful components in a small, collaborative team. The ideal candidate has strong PHP experience in Symfony or Laravel, solid OOD/SOLID understanding, and

Qualifications

• Strong PHP in a modern framework such as Symfony or Laravel
• Solid understanding of object oriented design and SOLID
• Experience building API driven backend systems with tests
• Comfortable with a modern JavaScript framework (Vue or React) as part of a full stack
• Able to own work in a small, collaborative team and communicate clearly
• Nice to have PostgreSQL, Dockerised apps, AWS and AI tools for productivity

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend heavy features across internal systems
• Collaborate with Head of Development on solution design and direction
• Write clean, testable PHP using Symfony with unit and functional tests
• Improve shared standards, code reviews, CI and deployment practices
• Work with business users to understand requirements and translate into pragmatic solutions
• Evolve platform and infrastructure using PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Vue.js, AWS and Docker
