Job summary

Barnett Waddingham is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join the IT Operations team across our UK offices, including Amersham, on a hybrid basis. You will maintain Windows Server environments, manage Azure and Microsoft 365 services, and support software deployment and IT projects.

The role involves 3rd line user support, network troubleshooting, backup/DR planning, security work, and collaboration with software teams. Relevant certifications (CCNA, ITIL, Azure/M365) are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server administration and Hyper‑V.
• Hands-on Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Familiarity with backup, DR and security best practices.
• Ability to support and deploy enterprise software across offices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with IT and non‑IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3rd line user support across multiple UK offices.
• Deploy software and maintain IT infrastructure for projects.
• Administer servers, networks, Azure and 365 services.
• Manage multiple environments (Production, Development).
• Implement backups, DR plans and security hardening.
• Keep systems updated and respond to security advisories.
• Plan hardware/software rollouts and coordinate with teams.
• Support email and internet communications; client-facing projects.
