Job summary

Capita HAAS is seeking a Clinical Assessor/Functional Specialist in Peterborough to conduct assessments for PIP and WCA, write evidence-based reports, and support DWP decisions. The role offers a hybrid pattern (home and clinic) with training and clear career pathways.

The ideal candidate is HCPC/NMC registered with a year of post-registration experience, strong communication, and proficient IT skills. Flexible hours and a structured, supportive environment are provided.

Qualifications

• NMC registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC registered professional with valid PIN.
• Minimum of one year post-registration experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate and detailed reports.
• Comfortable working quickly to meet structured targets.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems while working remotely.
• Excellent observational and communication skills, with empathy and depth of understanding.
• A driving licence or access to transport for assessment centre working.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments including initial reviews, face-to-face, video or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant’s health condition or disability affects them for various types of benefit.
• Analyse and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence.
• Write detailed evidence-based reports to support the DWP in making informed and objective decisions - no treatment or diagnosis required.
• Use IT systems to support clinical decision-making and report writing.
• Develop your clinical knowledge and continually learn about health conditions less familiar to you.
