Job summary

Capita HAAS is recruiting for Clinical Assessor/Functional Specialist roles at our Mansfield Clinic, offering hybrid working with up to 3 days on site. We seek registered nurses or HCPC professionals to assess claimants in person or via video, writing detailed reports and contributing to DWP decisions.

We provide full training, a starting salary of £39,500 rising to £40,500 after DWP approval, plus a 10% bonus, generous holiday allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NMC registered Nurse or HCPC registered professional with valid PIN and no current restrictions.
• Minimum of one year post-registration experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate and detailed reports.
• Comfortable working to meet structured targets.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office and adaptability to new systems.
• Excellent observational and communication abilities with empathy.
• Driving licence or access to transport for assessment centre work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structured assessments to evaluate how health conditions impact daily living.
• Observe, listen and gather information with empathy.
• Analyse clinical evidence and supporting documentation.
• Produce detailed written reports (3,000–4,000 words).
• Provide clear clinical justification to support DWP decisions.
• Continuously develop knowledge across a range of conditions.
• In this role, complete up to 3 assessments per day (face to face, video or telephony).
