Via East Midlands Limited is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our Strategic Maintenance Delivery team at the Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. You will contribute to highway and civil engineering projects, helping ensure quality, schedule and budget adherence.

You will provide technical and cost advice, review schemes for standards and safety, and collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams to achieve objectives. Hybrid working and career growth are on offer.

Qualifications

• HNC/D in Civil Engineering or equivalent highway/civil design experience.
• Strong IT skills: MS Office, internet apps, CAD software.
• Knowledge of highway design standards, contracts and specs.
• Understanding of health and safety, traffic management and construction legislation.
• Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong planning, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver highway and civil engineering projects within targets.
• Provide technical, design and cost advice for complex infrastructure projects.
• Review and authorise externally designed schemes for standards and safety.
• Collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams to meet objectives.
• Promote health, safety and environmental compliance across all project activities.
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders and the public to support project delivery.
• Represent the company and promote projects within industry networks.
