Via East Midlands Limited is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our Strategic Maintenance Delivery team at the Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. You will contribute to highway and civil engineering projects, helping ensure quality, schedule and budget adherence.

You will provide technical and cost advice, review schemes for standards and safety, and collaborate with Construction and Commercial teams to achieve objectives. Hybrid working and career growth are on offer.

Qualifikationen

• HNC/D in Civil Engineering or equivalent highway/civil design experience.
• Strong IT skills: MS Office, internet apps, CAD software.
• Knowledge of highway design standards, contracts and specs.
• Understanding of health and safety, traffic management and construction legislation.
• Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong planning, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Assistant Project Engineer to join our Strategic Maintenance Delivery team based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

What you'll do:

• Design and deliver highway and civil engineering projects, ensuring quality, programme and budget targets are achieved.
• Provide technical, design and cost advice to support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
• Review and authorise externally designed schemes to ensure compliance with design standards and safety requirements.
• Work closely with Construction and Commercial teams to achieve business, productivity and profitability objectives.
• Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all project activities.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, elected members and the public to support successful project delivery.
• Represent the company professionally, promoting projects and business activities across industry and community networks.

What we're seeking:

• A HNC/D in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in highway and civil engineering design.
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office, internet applications and CAD software.
• Good knowledge of highway design standards, contracts and engineering specifications.
• Understanding of health and safety, traffic management and relevant construction legislation.
• Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders in person, by email and over the phone.
• Strong planning, decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities.
