Via East Midlands Limited is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Strategic Maintenance Delivery team at our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. You will design and deliver highway maintenance projects, ensuring quality, programme and budget targets are met.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, strong CAD skills and experience with NEC4 contracts. Hybrid working and a generous benefits package are offered.

Project Engineer - Maintenance

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Strategic Maintenance Delivery team based out of our Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.

Maximising value and efficiency, we oversee procurement, estimating, and quantity surveying to keep Nottinghamshire's highways projects on track.

What you'll do:

• Design and deliver highway construction and maintenance projects, ensuring quality, programme and budget targets are met.
• Design and manage individual projects in line with commercial contracts such as NEC4.
• Provide specialist technical, design and cost advice on complex infrastructure projects.
• Review and approve externally designed schemes to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
• Work closely with Construction and Commercial teams to support business, productivity and profitability goals.
• Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all project activities.
• Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, elected members and the public to support successful project delivery.
• Represent the company and its projects across professional, business and community networks.

What we're seeking:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in highway and civil engineering design.
• Strong IT skills, including CAD software and engineering data management systems.
• Good knowledge of highway and civil engineering design standards, contracts and procedures.
• Understanding of health and safety, traffic management and relevant construction legislation.
• Experience working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and colleagues to deliver project objectives.
• Experience managing project budgets, financial reporting and programme performance.
• Experience delivering projects from feasibility and design through to construction.
• Experience of project change control processes
• Strong customer focus, with the drive to lead by example and achieve high standards.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
