Job summary

engstaff-in is seeking experienced Senior Civil Engineers to join our Derby and Leicester teams. You will lead design and delivery of civil/infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in the UK.

Key responsibilities include design of highways, drainage, SuDS, and external works, plus preparation of adoption designs and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D/PDS and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage. Hybrid working and clear progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering degree is required.
• 3–5+ years in civil/infrastructure design is preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD capabilities and knowledge of drainage/highways design.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D or PDS and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage is expected.
• Understanding of SuDS, S38/S104 agreements and design standards.
• Excellent communication and ambition to progress professionally.

Responsibilities

• Design highways, drainage, SuDS and external works for development projects.
• Prepare Section 38 and Section 104 adoption designs.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and design packages.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D/PDS and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and external stakeholders.
• Support project delivery, resource planning and junior engineers.
• Take increasing responsibility from concept to detailed design.
