Via East Midlands Limited is seeking a Highways Liaison Coordinator to join the Highways Management team at the Head Office in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. The role focuses on resolving highway management issues, building stakeholder partnerships, and coordinating urgent incidents to ensure public safety.

The ideal candidate will have experience in highways or civil engineering, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and positive approach.
• Experience in highways, civil engineering, or transferable skills from a similar field.
• Able to handle challenging customer interactions by phone and in person.
• Adaptive and flexible to changing business needs.
• Able to investigate issues thoroughly and identify effective solutions.
• Supports change and motivates others with a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in resolving highway management issues through effective, cost-controlled solutions.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and promote partnership working.
• Use initiative to manage complex and emergency highway situations.
• Coordinate urgent highway incidents with the Emergency Response Team to maintain public safety.
• Provide timely and informative responses to internal and external customers.
• Support the planning and delivery of schemes within the allocated area.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, and best practice.
• Support business growth by identifying opportunities and linking customers with Commercial Services.
