SSEN Transmission seeks a Lead Principal Engineer – HVDC P&C to provide technical leadership across a multi-project offshore portfolio, shaping HVDC strategies and solving complex design challenges. The role drives consistency, manages risk, and collaborates with engineering teams, supply chain and partners to deliver critical HVDC infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with Chartered status preferred.
• HVDC P&C engineering knowledge and regulatory understanding (CDM & ESQCR).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for HVDC P&C engineering initiatives across a multi-project offshore portfolio.
• Drive proactive and pragmatic resolution of technical issues to ensure delivery and engineering excellence.
• Guide and nurture a team of specialist engineers, fostering career growth and inclusive culture.
• Promote health, safety and environmental excellence, ensuring compliance with CDM, ESQCR, and SSEN standards.
• Drive innovation by encouraging continuous improvement and engaging with industry forums.
• Engage with technology providers to understand developments and shape future project pipelines.
