We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join an outstanding independent school in Woodside Park. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about making learning accessible and meaningful for students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Teach engaging KS3 Humanities lessons adapted to the needs of learners with MLD and moderate ASD.
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons in subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports communication, independence, and confidence.
Work closely with the SEND team, therapists, and support staff to ensure personalised learning pathways.
Contribute to the development of curriculum resources tailored to diverse learning needs.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with EHCP targets and school policy.
A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with experience in Humanities and/or SEND.
Strong understanding of strategies for supporting students with MLD and ASD, including visual supports, routine building, sensory awareness, and communication approaches.
Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping every learner succeed at their own pace.
Able to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
Excellent communication and behaviour-support skills.
