Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an HR Customer Services professional to join the HR Core Services Team. The role supports HR and Payroll services, including salary processing, pension administration, payroll reconciliation and payroll month-end duties.

A hybrid working pattern is available, with some home and office-based arrangements depending on service needs. The post is a Temporary Fixed Term contract (until 31 August 2027), full-time (37 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate at all levels and with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing information.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, operational and administrative support to managers and internal customers relating to HR and Payroll.
• Handle salary payments, statutory and non-statutory deductions, pension administration and payroll reconciliations.
• Manage sickness absence, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave administration; recruitment advertising and pre-employment checks.
