Job summary

1st Grade Care is seeking a confident HR Officer to join the People Team and support day-to-day HR operations within our growing domiciliary care organisation.

You will own key HR processes, conduct initial investigations, manage attendance and Bradford Factor scores, coordinate return-to-work and reviews, assist with disciplinary and grievance procedures, maintain records, support recruitment and onboarding, and provide day-to-day guidance per company policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial HR investigations and fact-finding, including gathering statements, evidence and relevant documentation.
• Monitor employee sickness absence, attendance and Bradford Factor scores, identifying concerns and escalating where appropriate.
• Coordinate return-to-work meetings, sickness reviews and probationary reviews.
• Assist with disciplinary, grievance and other employee relations procedures.
• Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and employee compliance processes.
• Monitor outstanding HR actions and ensure appropriate follow-up within agreed timescales.
• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
