Fairfield School of Business is looking to recruit a full-time HR Officer to provide an effective and efficient HR service.
You will be part of a team based at the Sheffield location, with travel to other areas associated with this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of HR, including staff selection & recruitment, employment, and leavers.
- Prepare staff contracts, job descriptions, HR policies, and forms.
- Oversee the application process and handle employment references.
- Work closely with management to support all people-related queries.
- Provide advice and support on employee relations issues, managing cases effectively and ensuring compliance with employment law.
- Support training and development of management on formal matters such as sickness absence and performance management.
- Liaise with payroll regarding staff salaries, invoices, and other payments.
- Manage all HR files, ensuring compliance with UKVI requirements and guidelines to prevent illegal immigration and employment.
- Maintain accurate data regarding staff immigration status.
- Conduct induction programmes for new starters.
- Organise and oversee staff annual appraisals.
- Manage the HR Management System, ensuring data accuracy and upload.
- Contribute to resolving employee relations matters in liaison with legal advisers.
- Facilitate employee complaints, grievances, conflict resolution, mediation, and investigations.
- Participate in management and external meetings related to HR and staff matters.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree-level education, preferably in business administration or HR.
- CIPD qualification (full or part).
- Experience in a fast-paced organisation, ideally in the education sector.
- Excellent communication, initiative, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations calmly, remain composed under pressure, and be flexible in approach.
