Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join Sheffield Council on a temporary full-time basis. The successful candidate will manage a team of HR Consultants, oversee complex employee relations casework, and ensure compliance with HR policies and employment law. This role requires a strong generalist HR background and excellent knowledge of employment law, with a total of 37 hours per week commitment from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR professional.
  • Strong generalist HR background with excellent employment law knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of HR Consultants to ensure consistent and effective HR support.
  • Provide strategic and operational HR advice across all service areas.
  • Manage complex and high-volume employee relations cases through to resolution.
  • Work closely with employment law teams to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Drive workforce planning initiatives to support organisational priorities.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders.

Belmont Recruitment are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join Sheffield Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

You will manage a team of HR Consultants and act as a trusted HR partner to managers across the organisation. The role involves leading complex employee relations casework, supporting workforce planning, and ensuring HR policies and processes are delivered effectively and in line with employment law.
