NEW GROUND WONT BREAK ITSELF

Every day our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals. People Advisory is an internal-facing consultancy team whose purpose is to deliver a people experience aligned with the people strategy, the firm’s purpose, and its strategic goals. The team’s aim is to create an environment where our people can thrive, do their best work, take shared responsibility, and deliver exceptional client service.

This means doing what’s right ahead of what’s easy. The work you do has a major impact on our people, clients, and our firm. We pride ourselves on the high standards we uphold in our work.

We’re happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, to help you balance your work and life.

About the role

You will be part of a flexible team supporting the business on people lifecycle activities related to performance, talent, and reward. You will also guide and coach people managers in managing their teams effectively, including handling performance concerns, absence, investigations, and disciplinary cases. Supporting Senior People Advisers and People Advisory Managers, you will deliver on our people strategy, initiatives, and annual people experience cycle.

Given the importance of this role, there will be exciting opportunities for the right person to expand their knowledge and develop their skillset.

Ideal candidate

Joining us as a People Adviser, the minimum criteria you'll need include:

  • Experience within a generalist HR function working with large client groups
  • Support experience in employee relations activities such as absence management, capability, investigations, and disciplinary processes
  • Confidence in using Excel to manipulate, analyze, and present data
  • Strong stakeholder management and adaptive communication skills
  • Examples of supporting managers with initiatives that positively impacted their teams

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience working in a large, complex organization
  • Experience collaborating within service line structures and centers of excellence
  • Experience delivering Inclusion and Diversity initiatives
  • Experience owning people processes like salary and bonus reviews, performance moderation, and talent management

Why you might be right for us

At Grant Thornton, we embrace individuality and foster an inclusive culture that values differences and respects colleagues. We believe in allowing our people to bring their whole selves to work and pursue passions both inside and outside of work.

Beyond the job

We recognize that life extends beyond work. We offer flexible working options to help maintain a healthy work-life balance. The impact you make here can go far beyond your day job, including opportunities for secondments, charity fundraising, and supporting entrepreneurs in developing countries. Our values—Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect, and Responsibility—guide everything we do.

We seek individuals who want to contribute, innovate, and exceed expectations. People who are committed to doing what’s right—for the firm, our clients, our people, and themselves. That’s how it should be.
