HR & RECRUITMENT ADVISOR - Home Based (Reasonable Travel)

We seek a dynamic, empathetic individual to serve as a primary contact for employees and managers. Your role will include providing advice on people policies, developing work practices, supporting HR strategy implementation, and collaborating across teams. You will work closely with our Head of HR, L&D Manager, and HR Administrator, contributing to projects that deliver agile HR solutions. Your expertise will be vital in fostering a people-centric culture and supporting our HR initiatives.

Location: Home Based with reasonable in-person attendance at meetings (Typically in London, Milton Keynes, or Birmingham).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the HR Strategy across Recruitment, Employee Relations, Resource Planning, Engagement, Payroll, and Systems.
  • Manage the People HUB (supported by SAGE) and drive continuous improvements.
  • Provide advice on HR, Payroll, and Recruitment, including employment law and policies, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Support the development of the HR Administrator.
  • Handle HR administration tasks such as payroll, employment changes, family leave, and reporting.
  • Assist with data collection for audits and funding applications.
  • Develop and update company policies in line with regulations and business goals.
  • Equip managers with skills and resources for workforce management.
  • Support recruitment activities, including monitoring applicant engagement, attending interviews, and covering during absences.
  • Oversee absence management, provide guidance, and coordinate medical referrals.
  • Assist with HR projects and cover team member holidays as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years in a generalist HR role.
  • CIPD Level 5 or commitment to certification.
  • GCSEs at grades 6+ in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience with HRIS or ATS systems, preferably SAGE.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Ability to provide professional advice confidently.
  • Skills in policy review and HR data analysis.
  • Proactive team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
