Housing Support Worker

SALARY: £25,526 - £26,869 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Oxford, Oxfordshire (OX4)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday

KEY REQUIREMENT: Candidates MUST hold a full, clean driving licence with access to their own vehicle

As a Housing Support Worker you will deliver tailored support, respond to helpline enquiries, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to promote safety and wellbeing across community care and support services.

Working as a Housing Support Worker you’ll manage referrals, complete needs assessments, maintain accurate records, and play a key role in safeguarding, advocacy, and move-on support.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Housing Support Worker include:

  • Providing Tailored Support: Deliver individualised support to clients across refuge, outreach, and helpline services
  • Managing Referrals: Oversee referrals and conduct comprehensive needs assessments
  • Supporting Tenancies: Offer guidance on tenancy rights, responsibilities, and housing options
  • Working in Partnership: Collaborate with internal teams and external professionals including police and healthcare services
  • Facilitating Group Work: Support and deliver group sessions for clients
  • Responding to Enquiries: Handle helpline queries with empathy and professionalism
  • Advocating for Clients: Champion client needs and support safe move-on pathways
  • Maintaining Records: Keep accurate case notes and contribute to safeguarding processes
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience of working directly with vulnerable clients or individuals affected by domestic abuse
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Basic IT skills with a willingness to learn new systems
  • A compassionate, proactive, and collaborative approach to support work
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • GCSEs (or equivalent)
