Job summary

Horton Housing Association in Bradford is seeking a Housing Support Worker to support families living in temporary accommodation to move into permanent housing. The role is 35 hours per week on a 10-month fixed-term contract, starting January 2027, with a salary of £27,588 per annum.

You will assist tenants in practical and emotional aspects of tenancy management, liaising with other support services, and ensuring immediate needs like food, clothing and benefits are met.

Qualifications

• Experience with people with multiple needs including mental health and homelessness.
• Experience working in housing environments providing tenancy-related support.
• Knowledge of health and safety tasks in property maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Support families in temporary accommodation to move into permanent housing.
• Assist tenants with practical and emotional aspects of managing their accommodation.
• Coordinate with other support services and ensure immediate needs are met (food, clothing, benefits).
• Carry out domestic duties and minor repairs to ensure a clean and safe living environment.
