Job summary

Wychavon District Council invites applications for a Homeless Tenancy Support Officer, part-time (22.2 hours per week) on a fixed-term contract to 31 March 2028. You will work across Malvern Hills and Wychavon districts to support people at risk of homelessness and rough sleeping.

You will assess needs, provide advice, help with housing options, and deliver pre-tenancy and support through partnerships. A driving licence and DBS check are required, and the role offers a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or customer service is essential.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and homelessness causes is required.
• Ability to engage with customers compassionately and work with partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide assertive outreach to assess needs and causes of homelessness.
• Advise on options and develop pathway plans to sustainable housing.
• Deliver pre-tenancy programme for those in emergency accommodation.
• Work in partnership to deliver a holistic homelessness prevention programme.
• Assist with housing benefit forms for customers in emergency accommodation.
• Attend meetings and liaise with external organisations.
• Travel across Malvern Hills and Wychavon districts; full driving licence and car essential.
