Job summary

Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils are seeking a Homeless Tenancy Support Officer to help prevent homelessness and support those at risk of rough sleeping. This 22.2-hour-per-week fixed-term role (until 31 March 2028) is based across the Malvern Hills and Wychavon districts and requires a driving licence.

You will undertake assertive outreach, assess needs, advise on options, and help move customers from emergency accommodation into sustainable housing, including a pre-tenancy

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or customer service environment.
• Able to travel across Malvern Hills district.
• Driving licence and use of a car essential.
• Assertive outreach and safeguarding awareness.
• Good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide assertive outreach to assess needs and prevent homelessness.
• Help customers seeking housing and move to emergency accommodation.
• Deliver pre-tenancy programme for those in emergency accommodation.
• Work in partnership to deliver homeless prevention programme.
• Attend meetings and liaise with external organisations.
• Assist with housing benefit forms and related processes.
