Job summary

Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils are seeking a Housing Triage Assistant to act as the first point of contact for customers seeking housing support. You will process approaches for homelessness risk, provide initial advice on housing options, determine eligibility and signpost to other organisations.

The role includes flexible duties across the housing team, with duties in both Malvern and Wychavon districts. A basic DBS check is required, and prior housing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Housing or similar related field.
• Housing qualification or a similar related field.
• Sound working knowledge of housing legislation and guidance.
• Ability to advise customers and determine homelessness eligibility.
• Must be able to provide clear, accurate records and signpost to appropriate services.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customers accessing the housing service.
• Process approaches at risk of homelessness and provide initial housing options advice.
• Determine eligibility and make referrals to officers in the team.
• Signpost customers to other organisations and reduce homelessness risk.
• Undertake additional Housing Assistant duties and cover both Malvern and Wychavon districts.
