Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Ely, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Housing Officer to join our Housing team. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based in Ely, managing a patch of social housing properties and tenancies to ensure safety and attractiveness of living spaces.

You will deliver high quality housing management, tenancy and resident services, and work with external agencies to support residents while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at pass level.
• Proven experience in tenancy or property management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service and care.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice.
• Full valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality housing management services meeting resident needs and the wider community.
• Provide an effective tenancy and resident service in line with policies and procedures.
• Manage tenant expectations regarding repairs and coordinate property maintenance.
• Address complaints with a focus on first contact resolution and service improvement.
• Support compliance with fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection.
• Provide general tenancy advice to enable sustainability of housing.
• Collaborate with external agencies to resolve issues affecting tenant welfare.
