Job summary

RGB Recruitment is seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a leading housing association on a 12-week temporary contract covering neighbourhoods across Exeter. You will manage tenancy enquiries, sign-ups and estate maintenance, delivering frontline housing services across a busy patch.

This role requires a proactive, customer-focused housing professional with strong tenancy and estate management knowledge; CIH Level 4 is preferred and a full UK driving licence is essential for travel

Qualifications

• Previous social housing experience is essential, ideally as Housing Officer or Neighbourhood Officer.
• Strong knowledge of tenancy management, estate management and tenancy enforcement.
• Experience with safeguarding concerns and challenging situations.
• Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a designated housing patch across Exeter, delivering frontline housing services.
• Handle tenancy enquiries, permissions, sign-ups and property viewings.
• Investigate and manage tenancy breaches, including safeguarding concerns.
• Carry out estate inspections, ensuring neighbourhoods remain safe and well-maintained.
• Work with residents, contractors and partner agencies to resolve issues.
• Support resident engagement and community development initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of tenancy and estate management.

The Role

What We're Looking For

• Experience dealing with challenging situations and safeguarding concerns.
• Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills.
• CIH Level 4 qualification or willingness to work towards it.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work independently across a geographical patch.
