Renfrewshire Council is seeking a Housing Assistant to support local housing services, interviewing and advising customers on housing prospects and tenancy matters, including termination of tenancy, and helping maximise income for the Council.

The role requires experience dealing with the public in person and on the telephone, numeracy skills, and strong customer service and communication abilities. Flexibility to work across locations and use of initiative is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public in person and on the telephone.
• Numeracy skills and ability to work with figures.
• Effective customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to deal with angry/upset customers with confidence.

Responsabilités

• Interview and advise customers on housing prospects/needs.
• Interview and advise customers in person, by telephone or video link regarding tenancy matters, including termination of tenancy.
• Maximise income for the Council, including managing rent arrears and advising tenants on income maximisation.
• Organise workload and be flexible to work at other locations as required.
