Castlefield Healthcare is partnering with a leading private healthcare provider, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospital Manager to join their esteemed private healthcare facility.
You would have a variety of responsibilities on a daily basis, working as an integral part of a small, close-knit team.
Summary
Operational Management:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the hospital, ensuring smooth delivery of clinical and non-clinical services.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, procurement, and facilities management to maintain a safe and effective environment.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for operational issues and service user concerns, resolving them efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure all service delivery meets contractual, clinical, and regulatory expectations.
Human Resources & Recruitment:
- Lead and coordinate recruitment activities across the organisation, including job design, interviewing, onboarding, and induction processes.
- Maintain compliance with safer recruitment and HR best practices, including DBS checks, reference checks, and staff appraisals.
- Develop staff retention strategies and champion a positive working culture.
- Manage sickness absence, performance issues, and staff development pathways.
Governance, Quality & Compliance (CQC Registered Manager):
- Serve as the CQC Registered Manager for the site, taking full responsibility for regulatory compliance.
- Lead on the preparation for CQC inspections and ensure action plans from audits and inspections are implemented and reviewed.
- Develop and maintain robust quality assurance systems, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and embedded in practice.
- Carry out regular clinical and operational audits, risk assessments, and service evaluations.
Business Development & Strategy:
- Identify new business opportunities including NHS and private sector contracts; prepare and submit competitive tenders and expressions of interest.
- Monitor and evaluate market trends to expand service lines or improve financial sustainability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commissioners, insurers, and strategic partners.
- Contribute to budget setting and financial planning in collaboration with senior leadership.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- CQC Registered Manager status (or willingness to become registered).
- Relevant qualification in healthcare management, business, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in healthcare, clinic, or practice management within the UK.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering services within regulated healthcare environments.
- Demonstrable knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance, and audit processes.
- Previous experience in contract management or bid submission.
