Job summary

Royal Voluntary Service is seeking a part-time Retail Customer Assistant at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley. You will provide friendly service, handle orders and payments, and help maintain shop and cafe standards in a hospital environment.

The role offers part-time hours with flexibility, paid training, and opportunities to support volunteers and patients. The position supports charitable activities and community health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a retail or cafe environment is desirable but full training will be provided.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and proactive approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible attitude to working hours and days.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, inform about specials, take orders and process payments.
• Operate the till and perform cash reconciliation as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and health/safety and food hygiene standards.
• Replenish stock and displays; assist with ordering supplies.
• Engage with volunteers and work as part of a supportive team.
• Support in cafe and retail outlets as required.
