Job summary

Royal Voluntary Service is recruiting a Retail Customer Assistant to join our team at Kingston Hospital in Kingston upon Thames. This part-time, fixed-term role runs until 30 January 2027, offering a salary of £12.71 per hour (FTE £23,136 per annum).

You will help run our hospital cafes, shops and trolleys with friendly, efficient service. Working hours are 21 per week on a rota, primarily Monday to Friday, with early mornings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a retail or cafe environment would be an advantage, but training will be given.
• Excellent communications skills and a can-do attitude.
• Good numeracy, literacy and cash handling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful and efficient service at all times.
• Welcoming customers, informing about specials or new products, taking orders and payments.
• Operate the till and cash up.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Replenish stock and displays; order supplies if required.
