Job summary

John Lewis is seeking an experienced Technician Specialist to join a two-person delivery crew, delivering and installing products at customers' homes. You’ll train and mentor fellow drivers, ensure safe handling of large items, and demonstrate product operation after installation.

The role involves heavy lifting and working across a 5-week rotating schedule, with early start times and weekend coverage as required. A strong emphasis on service excellence and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual C1 driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• DCPC or Drivers Qualification Card and Tachograph Card by day one.
• Previous driving experience on a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
• Experience working in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, in person and on the phone.
• Good understanding of technology.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with top customer service.
• Coach and develop delivery driver colleagues on installations and service.
• Assist loading the lorry with deliveries alongside warehouse staff.
• Respect customers' homes and handle unexpected situations to resolve issues.
• Install products efficiently and demonstrate operation to customers.
• Keep up to date with new products and technologies relevant to the role.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
