Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support members in emergencies across the UK.

You’ll start and finish at home, supported by an RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit. A Level 2 LV maintenance qualification (or equivalent) plus 2+ years’ experience is required, along with 5+ years in vehicle servicing and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home, with your RAC van and diagnostic kit provided.
• Tackle challenges head-on and provide quick, confident solutions for members on the roadside.

Education
