Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK, with start and finish at your home and a RAC van, fuel card, and full uniform provided from day one.

You’ll work locally within the York cluster area, starting each shift from home and returning after service calls. A Level 2 qualification and 2 years’ experience are preferred, along with a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification and 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Customer-focused approach and full UK driving licence.
• Experience in mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support and rapid fault finding.
• Make safe, confident recommendations and complete repairs during call-outs.
