Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll work in the Walsall cluster, covering local areas, starting and finishing at home with demand-led shifts that average about 40 hours per week.

With a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience, you’ll perform emergency breakdown support, diagnostics, and mechanical roadside repairs across the UK. A RAC van, fuel card, tools, and full uniform are provided from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience.
• Experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is preferred.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions.
• Start and finish each day at home with a RAC van and tools provided.
