Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician who can perform diagnostics, repairs and emergency breakdown support, starting and finishing from home with a RAC van and tools provided. You will operate across the York cluster and surrounding areas, responding to calls with a focus on customer care and rapid resolutions.

You’ll have a Level 2 qualification and at least 2 years of post-qualification experience, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' post-qualification technical experience (electrical, diagnostics).
• Customer-focused approach and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex diagnostics.
