Job summary

ATA Recruitment is helping a UK manufacturer recruit an Area Sales Manager for the South of England (home-based). The role covers managing a territory with an annual revenue target around £1.4 million and typical project values of £35k-£80k.

You will be out visiting customers 6–8 times per week. Base salary is £50,000-£60,000 with a company car or £550 monthly car allowance, plus an OTE of £72,000 and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong track record selling bespoke mechanical equipment, mechanical systems or engineered products.
• Hunger and appetite for winning business.
• Strong relationship building skills.
• Enjoy closing.
• Consultative approach to selling.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop customer relationships across the South of England.
• Respond to and convert incoming project enquiries.
• Conduct customer meetings and site surveys.
• Understand manufacturing processes and operational challenges.
• Develop technically appropriate filtration and extraction solutions.
• Prepare and present commercial proposals.
• Manage projects through the sales cycle from enquiry to order.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and CRM records.
• Deliver territory sales and profitability targets.
• Identify new opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
• Work closely with engineering and delivery teams for handovers.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
